Assessment

I hadn't thought much about assessment before I became a teacher. I realized it is also important as well as teaching after I became a teacher. Assessment was huge pressure for me.
Unfortunately, I'm afraid the assessment lecture that I'd taken in college was mostly about a theory, not a kind of things for adjusting a real field.
If you are Korean public school teachers, you are all familiar with a "performance test". I'll explain it briefly for those who don't know the Korean grading system.
We take 2 written exams which are mid-term and final exams in one semester. And we do this "performance test" in one semester base. We do implement it for a whole year, but we grade the students every one semester. As you could guess, the performance test is not fixed method. It can be done many ways, such as listening test, oral comunication, students portfolio, or vocabulary puzzle. However, there is always a tricky problem how we measure the students' grade in an objective way.
Did you get what this is about? Please correct me if I'm wrong.^^
Have you taken any perticular or fun performance test in your school? Other than the performance test, I'm sure you do grade students' activities in any way.
I'd like you to share it with me.

Well.. assessment is huge pressure for both students and teachers. As for me, I have three parts, listening test, attitude, cloze test. The cloze test provide objectivity but it is far from the students'activities..It was so complicated..

In high school, assessment is everything both teachers and students care about. It is a lot of pressure.
